A new resource program involving 18 library systems in Ohio including the Mansfield-Richland County Public Library is making over 10 million items available to patrons.

Library director Joe Palmer said the Search Ohio Program began in June in Richland County. He said the program involves library systems in Westerville, Cuyahoga County, Stark County, Greene County and Summit County.

Palmer said patrons now have access to materials that may not be available at the Mansfield-Richland County Public Library.

In other business, the library board of trustees approved extending hours at the branch locations. Starting in September branch locations will be open until 8 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday nights. Palmer said the change will be done without having to hire additional staff.
