BUTLER:  Joyce Kissel, age 62 of Butler, passed away Friday morning, July 23, 2010 in her home surrounded by her devoted family.

        She was born May 16, 1948 in Grundy, Virginia, the daughter of Dale and Dorothy (Stiltner) Whited.

        On January 28, 1972 she married Robert Kissel with whom she celebrated 38 years of marriage.

        A lifelong area resident, Joyce was a loving and dedicated mother to her two daughters.  She dearly loved her family and was at the center of planning family reunions and get-togethers.

        Joyce was a sucker for a good bargain and enjoyed weekly trips to Target, and garage saleing in the spring and summer months.

        She also appreciated drives in the country, especially through Holmes County, stopping at her favorite country stores. 

        Joyce is survived by her husband Robert Kissel, two daughters and sons-in-law Stephanie and Jake Furnis of Butler and Holly and Chris Pettigrew of Cincinnati, a grandson John Ethan Pettigrew, eight sisters and a brother, along with several nieces nephews, extended family, and friends to numerous to name.

        In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother.

        Friends may call Tuesday, July 27, 2010 from 5-7 pm in the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home, where the funeral service will follow at 7 pm. 

        Memorial contributions to Knox County Hospice may be made through the funeral home.
